Nilka has been a psychologist for around 20 years in Cuba, her country of origin with extensive experience in various areas of Psychology until 2014 when she emigrated to Texas where she settled with her husband and two sons.
Since her arrival, she had to work multiple jobs while improving her English, helping her family settle down and adapt to so many changes, and beginning to homologate her university studies and delve deeper into the study of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
In 2018 she obtained the Behavioral Technician credential (RBT) and from there she began to provide direct ABA services to children diagnosed with autism and other disabilities while continuing to study.
She completed a Master's Degree in Psychological Development of Childhood andAdolescence and was able to meet the requirements to become a Behavior Analyst Assistant(BCaBA) and Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
All the way traveled here and the great experience in psychology provided her with valuable skills to help families face the diagnosis of their beloved children. She has extensive knowledge in the different stages of development, diagnosis and treatment, parent training, skills training, and the management of maladaptive behaviors.
